It is my great pleasure to welcome you on my behalf and that of my esteemed colleagues, the members of the Board of Directors, to the new International Development Bank(IDB) website. It’s been considerately redesigned to deliver a more positive, dynamic and interactive experience, in addition to providing valuable information and important announcements related to the bank.

Our online presence serves as an essential communication gateway to unite our customers within Iraq and beyond, and connect with external parties keen to learn more about our history, the products and services we offer, and our latest activities and achievements.

Despite the economic challenges faced by our beloved country in recent years, we continue to remain committed to our purpose of generating growth for generations, complemented by our vision of becoming the recognized commercial ambassador for the country – and delivered through our ambition of becoming one of the leading banks in the region.

To deliver against this ambition, we represent the Iraqi banking sector with the utmost professionalism and provide relevant and innovative integrated banking services to the Iraqi public as well as local and foreign companies seeking to invest in our country.

Today is a time to seize opportunities, and Iraq epitomizes that, given it is a country that holds such substantial potential within the region. This is in no small measure due to being blessed with a compelling combination of having an abundance of both natural wealth and well-educated human resources, as well as an important strategic geographical position - making it an ideal place for investment.

As a bank keen to take a leadership stance, it means working diligently to develop the necessary infrastructure. Specifically, this validated through expansion of our geographic presence by establishing branches and representative offices in the region, attracting skilled and experienced bankers, adopting the latest banking technologies, as well as building a wide network of correspondent banks. When combined, these efforts aim to make a progressive contribution to Iraq's economic development, and assist the country in regaining its status on both the regional and international stages.

These efforts have to be backed by a promise, and ours is to never stand still – something we deliver by pioneering an ever-expanding portfolio of products and services, supported by the latest technologies to help generate growth for individuals, businesses and society.

My final words express my personal gratitude as well as that of the Board of Directors, to my fellow members of the executive management and all bank employees at every level for their tireless efforts and perpetual dedication in upholding the high standards of the bank, delivering value to our customers and striving toward achieving our vision.
